Job summary

The Paper Excellence Group ( has grown from a single mill to a multinational company producing 2.5 million tonnes of paper and pulp with over 2,000 employees. With 7 mills in Canada and 2 in Europe, we are continually investing in our mills and the communities in which we operate to ensure a long term strategic position in the industry.

The Data Entry Specialist – SAP/MM reports to the Procurement System Manager and works closely with the corporate SAP team as well as the mills to ensure accuracy and resolve any discrepancies.

Please note this is a 6-month full time contract position with the potential to go permanent for the right candidate.



  • Enters material specifications into SAP, ensuring that the correct codes are used and that there is no duplication.
  • Confirms with the mills that material specifications provided are correct.
  • Regularly reviews the current numbering system and inventory data.
  • Reviews inventory turns / consumption levels to check for discrepancies or unusual levels of usage. In these circumstances, contacts the mill warehouse supervisor to verify accuracy of data and resolve the discrepancy.
  • Verifies specifications received from vendors or mills to ensure accuracy before any purchase requisitions are issued.


  • Diploma or equivalent post-secondary education, preferably in a business discipline.
  • Existing data entry experience would be a strong asset, as well as prior exposure to SAP.
  • Strong Excel skills; able to perform Vlookups.
  • Highly competent at administrative tasks including filing, photocopying and scanning.
  • Exceptional attention to detail when working with complex information. Diligent in identifying errors or discrepancies.
  • Self-starter; takes initiative and is proactive.
  • Effective communication skills; verbal and written.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
